To ensure the safety and well being of all students and staff, procedures for the safe administration of medication and severe/life-threatening medical situations have been established in Administrative Procedure 316. As such, parents/guardians requesting the administration of prescription medication must complete a Medication Management Plan form available through the school office or below. Parents need to inform the office of the need for medication to be administered and the medication must be brought to school by parents or guardians. The school will not provide any form of medication (e.g. Tylenol) with the form being completed.
Students are not permitted to keep and/or self-administer any type of medication.
Please let us know immediately about allergies, particularly any students who are anaphylactic. Our staff is retrained yearly in the use of EpiPens.
FSE Medication Management Plan - This plan is intended for physician prescribed medications including PRN and over the counter medications. For all students with severe allergies and anaphylaxis also complete the Medical Emergency Plan form.
Medical Emergency Plan - For students with medical needs not covered by standard plans (diabetes, epilepsy, anaphylaxis, asthma). Outlines individual symptoms, required emergency actions, and supports to ensure safety. Developed with parents/guardians and, when appropriate, healthcare providers.
