Hello! I'm Karly Melnyk, and I’m thrilled to join Fort Saskatchewan Elementary as the
new school counsellor. I am deeply passionate about mental health and committed to
fostering relationships and connections within both our school and the Fort
Saskatchewan community. In my role, I will support the emotional, social, and
intellectual growth of our students through counselling, collaborative discussions,
coordinating services, and ensuring clear communication between the school, families,
and the wider community. I am also dedicated to child advocacy and developing
educational programs tailored to our students' needs.
My focus is on helping students recognize and express their feelings, improve
communication, build social skills, resolve conflicts, and address learning challenges. I
also support them in developing effective study habits, boosting self-confidence, and
managing stress and anxiety. Additionally, I will work on creating program plans to help
every student reach their full potential.
